Hugo prefers living a balanced life which includes spending time with his wife and two daughters. He also enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, such as cycling, hiking and playing golf. He was born and raised in Musina where he completed his Garde 12 at the High school Eric Louw whereafter he relocated to Pretoria. Hugo graduated in 2014 from the North West University of Potchefstroom with a B.Com Financial Management Degree, followed by a Honours Degree in Financial Accounting in 2015. During the year 2020 he completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting (CTA) at the Milpark Education Institution.

Hugo joined the Realgrowth Development family as Financial Manager during the year 2021.
